Concrete Contractors, Ready Mixers and Finishers: Need help with how and when to add ABC Polymer’s Concrete Fibers to your concrete mix or with how to mix, place and finish your Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC)? Select and click a topic below for detailed information and step-by-step instructions!
- How do I enhance fiber’s contribution to quality concrete?
- How do synthetic and steel fibers affect the slump and the workability of the concrete?
- What is the standard procedure for introducing synthetic fibers into Ready Mix trucks?
- What is the best method to use to introduce steel fibers into the concrete mix?
Monofilament Concrete Fiber
ABC Monofilament Concrete Fibers provide effective crack resistance coupled with a smooth finish. All ABC Monofilament Concrete Fibers are manufactured from 100% virgin polypropylene and are available in lengths ranging from 1/4" to over 2". ABC Concrete Fibers offers a wide choice of deniers, ranging from 6 denier to over 10,000 denier. ABC Monofilament Concrete Fibers are also coated with a special low foam finish that prevents balling, promotes dispersion of the concrete fibers in the concrete, and minimizes the unwanted air-entrainment that often accompanies inferior concrete fibers.
Fibrillated Concrete Fibers
ABC Fibrillated Concrete Fibers are the most effective microsynthetic fiber available for minimizing cracking throughout the life of the concrete. All ABC Fibrillated Concrete Fibers are manufactured from 100% virgin polypropylene. ABC Fibrillated concrete fibers are proven to deliver maximum post-peak flexural strength. They also deliver superior impact, abrasion and shatter resistance while decreasing permeability. Like ABC Monofilament Fibers, ABC Fibrillated Concrete Fibers are coated with a special low foam finish that prevents balling, promotes dispersion of the concrete fibers in the concrete and minimizes the unwanted air-entrainment that often accompanies the use of inferior concrete fibers originally designed for other purposes.
Macrosynthetic Concrete Fibers
Embossed Tape Polypropylene-polyethylene Fibers
ABC Polymer Industries manufactures an embossed tape fiber using 100% virgin resins. Tuf Max DOT is a uniquely designed product that produces excellent ASTM C1609 test results with exceptional crack width reduction at a given deflection when compared to the competition. This product displays outstanding mixing, placing and finishing properties. The standard length is 1.5" and is also available in a 2.0" length. This product is available in mixer ready bags and a large range of packaged weights.
Fibrillated Polypropylene-Polyethylene Fibers
ABC Polymer Industries manufactures a highly modified fibrillated fiber using 100% virgin resins. Macro Pro's design provides a larger cross-section design of the main fibrils and a finer cross fibril to enhance bond and tensile properties. This product is recommended for use in precast products and other special concrete elements. The standard length is 1.5" and is also available i a 2.0" length. This product is available in mixer ready bags and a large range of package weights.
Blend - Polypropylene-polyethylene Fibers.
Performance Plus DOT is a Blend of the Tuf Max DOT and Macro Pro. This unique blend combines the positive properties of both products and thus provides Performance Plus DOT with a broad range of potential applications. The standard length is 1.5" and is also available in 2.0" length. This product is available in mixer ready bags and a large range of package weights.
Steel Concrete Fibers
ASTM A820 Type V
ABC Polymer Industries markets Type V steel fiber, which meet the requirements of ASTM A820 and ASTM C1116, and is available in two standard configurations; continuously deformed and end deformed. Steel fibers are delivered in a broad range of lengths from 3/4" to 2" and are provided in mixer ready bags with a standard package weight of 55 pounds.
Concrete Fiber Blends
Macrosynthetic-Microsynthetic Fiber Blends and Steel-Microsynthetic Fiber Blends
ABC Polymer industries can furnish both Macrosynthetic Fiber-Microsynthetic Fiber Blends and Steel Fiber-Microsynthetic Fiber Blends depending on the project specifications or the application requirements. These Blends utilize the Macro, Micro and Steel fibers described above. The macrosynthetic fibers and the steel fibers are typically 1.5" in length and the microsynthetic fibers are 3/4" in length. The packaging is mixer ready bags and a broad range of bag weights can be provided.
All of the Blends’ product specification sheets consist of four pages of information. Below, we offer you two options for printing each Blend’s product specification sheet- a Booklet version and a sheet version.
The Booklet version prints two pages side by side on 11 x 17 paper (set your printer to print two sides and to flip on the short side) and folds once like a book or a booklet. The sheet version prints four consecutive pages or two pages, two sides on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.
